FishFood of agreeable quantities has staged throughout WesternSound, silvers and peanuts, snappers in the harbors. At long last mr.bonito is on the itinerary and minds of fly and light tackle enthusiasts.
The good word is that the waters of Long Island, off of Eatons Neck, have seen Greenies up and down ...up and down...without seeing flies.
Within the week expect pods on the reef outside Cockenoe, ditto to the east from Penfield up to the Housatonic area reefs. But tred lightly friend, heavy boat traffic is for the ducks.
The coming weeks are prime time for throwing a fly from the saddle of your yak', we'll have big blues on top and shots at Bones, the week of the 23rd is when it kicked into high gear last August.
Couple WSF regulars are out tomorrow to bring some finned friends to rail, I'll keep ya posted.
